Annual LCPCA Fall Conference

The LCPCA is proud to announce that Dr. Donald Meichenbaum will be presenting a two day workshop on the campus of Montana State University– Billings on September 24th and 25th as a part of the Annual LCPCA Fall Conference.

MSU– Billings is co-sponsoring this event. Dr. Meichenbaum will present one day on
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY WITH ADULTS and one day on COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THREAPY WITH CHILDREN, ADOLESCENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES.

Don Meichenbaum

Donald Meichenbaum, Ph.D, is Distinguished Professor Emeritus , University of Waterloo, Onrtario , Canada and he is presently Distinguished Visiting Professor at the University of Miami. He is also Research Director of the Melissa Institute for Violence Prevention in Miami.

He is one of the founders of cognitive-behavioral therapy and in a survey reported in the American Psychologist, North American psychologists vote Dr. Meichenbaum to be “ one of the ten most influential psychotherapists of the century.”

He has published extensively including two Clinical Handbooks on Treating Adults with PTSD and Treating Individuals with anger- control problems and aggressive behaviors. He has lectured and consulted internationally and he has worked with a wide variety of clinical populations including child, adolescent and adult psychiatric patients who have a history of victimization, returning soldiers , individuals with traumatic brain injuries and Native populations.

He will draw upon this work during this workshop presentation. Dr. Meichenbaum always receives the most laudatory evaluations as he combines critically-monded scholarship with clinical perspicacity and humor. He will include many video case presentations and he provides an extensive handout.
